Confessions of a Product Junkie: My Beauty Philosophy
By Guest Blogger: Amber Grace
When you see this picture, I'm sure one of the first thing you think is - "Wow this girl is a product junkie!". The next thing that crosses your mind is "Wow I wish I had all those products too!".
Yes, I agree I am a bit of a product junkie. Yes, that is my bathroom and yes, I do use all of those products. Maybe not every day but most every day. A girl needs options! She needs to figure out what works best and what doesn't work.
I am a pretty lucky gal. I am a makeup and hair stylist and have worked in the beauty industry for well over a decade now. I have access to all of the latest and greatest products in store. I am going to take you on my journey of experiencing different products. I will share with you what some of my favorite products are. Believe me I definitely have my faves!
I also want to talk to you all about one of my goals in life. It's to help women find the beauty that is within. I know it's hard to feel beautiful all the time and I know it can be difficult to except that you are beautiful. I know this because I have trouble truly embracing the beauty I possess as well. It took me a long time to accept a compliment. Instead of a simple "thank you," we usually make an excuse for what is wrong with our appearance. From an, "Oh I hate my hair today," to, "OMG... I feel so fat," let's face it - we have ALL done this.
Just embrace that you're rocking that red lip, or that amazing pump, or you look hot with your new haircut. You don't need to make excuses or feel bad for feeling beautiful. We all have heard that saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I personally think I have nice eyes. I try my best to rock a different look every day. I have fun with different eye-shadow colors and different colored eye-liner. I have long lashes so I add a little extra mascara to make sure they stand out.
What part of you do you love and feel extra beautiful every time you emphasize that body part? I encourage you to look in the mirror and find one thing that you love about yourself. It could be your smile, a cute dimple, your freckles. Maybe you look good whenever you wear heels cause your legs look amazing. Maybe you rock a killer manicure. Whatever it is, know that it's uniquely you... embrace your beauty!
I challenge you to find what makes you feel beautiful. Don't be afraid or ashamed to share it. Also instead of making excuses, next time you are complemented just simply smile and say, "Thank you!"
